What Small Game Caliber do you use?

WHAT IS YOUR PREFERRED SMALL GAME CALIBER ?

I currently have a 40 cal southern Mountain rifle. It is the one pictured on the home page.
I have parts to build the same rifle in .32 cal
I might sell the 40 cal once I have the .32 built.
I have some home projects on the go right now.
Nothing too taxing. I should be able to start my rifle in a about a month.
That is just the beginning of hunting season for me.
Can't hunt after dark so evenings should be spent on the rifle.
Might make a nice article for the home page.

Just my .62 smoothie right now. I LOVE turkey huntin' with smokepole, but haven't tried any other small game. The grouse population seems to be up this year, so maybe I'll be able to get after some of them one day this October. I used to hunt grouse a lot when I was young. We have squirrels too.

i would like to build a nice smooth rifle or fowling piece to bag smaller game and fowl.wiill start collecting parts to start on one once i get this other build out of the way....
